Uutisoimme viime viikolla, kuinka Lou Reedin kanssa albumin tehneen Metallican muusikot Kirk Hammet ja James Hetfield olivat puhjenneet kyyneliin uutta Junior Dad -kappaletta äänittäessä. Bändi on nyt paljastanut, minkämoiset lyriikat herkistivät vannoutuneet metallimiehet.
Hammetin mukaan Reedin kirjoittaman Junior Dad -nimeä kantavan kappaleen sanoitukset olivat niin koskettavat, että hän joutui bänditoverinsa James Hetfieldin kanssa biisiä äänittäessä valtavan tunnekuohun valtaan. Hammetin isä oli menehtynyt muutamaa viikkoa aikaisemmin ja lyriikat olivat tuoneet pintaan muistoja.
Junior Dad -kappaleen sanat on julkaistu alun perin vuonna 2000 ilmestyneessä Lou Reedin lyriikkaa sisältävässä Lou Reed's Pass Thru Fire: The Collected Lyrics -kirjassa.
